It's clean-day for many in the south and north-east after a deadly spring storm that destroyed homes, knocked power and flattened much of the town of Franklin, Texas. At least 8 people are known dead. The National Weather Serives' Bob Oravec.
"Most of the reports at the moment we refer to high wind but there were several tornadoes reported. One in Ohio and a few in Alabama and a few unconfirmed but reports other places across the eastern U.S."
Despite the rain from the storm, they're running the Boston marathon today, the 6th anniversary of the Boston marathon bombings that killed 3 people and injured hundreds of others. Today is the first time the anniversary date of the bombing falls on the same day as the marathon.
President Trump visits Minesota today, a democratic stronghold he hopes to flip in 2020. Congresswman Ilhan Omar is not among his fans. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar says "It has to stop." The Minesota Democrat has been getting numerous death threats refering to a video twitted Friday by President Trump that purports to show her being dismissive of the 2001 terrorist attacks. Her plea follows an announcement by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who says she has taken steps to ensure Omar's safety while also calling on the President to remove the video while the video disappeared as a pin tweet at the top of Trump's Twitter feed soon after it wasn't deleted. Medical experts say this is a big deal. Researchers have discovered that a drug that's used to help control blood sugar in diabetics can slow or even prevent kidney disease. Kidney disease kills millions of people every year. The drug is called Invokana.

A lawyer for Julian Assange says he didn't do all those things Ecuador's accusing him of while he was hold up in its embassy in London.
The allegations about Assange's personal hygiene became fodder for Saturday Night Live with Michael Keaton playing Wikileaks founder.
"I'm the scourge of the cleaning staff at Ecuadorian embassy."
But his lawyer Jennifer Robinson told the Skynews the allegation that he smeared feces on a wall is not true.
"Ecudor has been making some pretty outrageous allegations over the past few days to justify what was an unlawful and extraordinary act in allowing British police to come inside the embassy."
The U.S. wants the Wikileaks founder extradited for conspiracy. Sweden is also considering reviving a rape investigation of him. I'm Julie Walker.
