The top Democrat in the Senate blasting President tonight for not coming down hard on Russia's president after the Muller report found there was extensive evidence that Russia hacked the 2016 elections. Our Sagar Meghani reports on today's call.

"We talked about many things."

Asked if Russian election meddling was one of them?

"We didn't discuss that."

But did they did talk about special counsel Bob Muller's Russia report.

"He actually saw the smile when he said something to the fact that it started off as a mountain and it ended up being a mouth."

The President says he doesn't know if Muller should testify before congress, deferring to Attorney General William Barr who could block it if he wanted. But as said he has no objection to Muller appearing. Sagar Meghani, Washington.

The head of House Judiciary Committee said a deadline of Monday for the Attorney General to provide congress with a non-redacted version of the Muller report.

 

The administration's pleased today's employment report which showed employers higher 260,000 people last month. Economist Diane Swonk says it shows bisuness confidence going forward.

"They start hiring up and anticipation of taking those census figures and government employment did pick up a bit from that. We also saw some people who accepted temporary work instead of full time work."

Stocks soared follwing the news.

 

Communities along Misissipi river are bracing for more flooding and the mayor of Claeksville, Missouri worried about farmers there. 

"The ground has been saturated for the highest (?) 25 years. Our farmers are in desperate trouble at this point. It's not just (a town?)"

And 4 deaths are reported because of flooding.

Vice President Mike Pence praised the parishioners of 3 african-american churches in Louisiana for the way that they

responded to arson attacks at their houses of worship.

"I'm deeply inspired as people are all across this country by the courage and resilience of these communities to face these families but also by the generous support of the poeple of Lousiana and people all across country.

 

More than 2 million dollars has been raised to help repair those churches by a social media.

 

Actor Vince Vaugn has been convicted of reckless driving. He failed a DUI test.

 

California's Attorney General says he's seeking documents from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Prosecurors wanna review how the church handled allegations of child sex abuse and whether they were properly reported to authorities. I'm Jackie Quinn. AP Radio News.
